Damien Pinon : votre domaine viticole de renom
In operation for 3 generations, this comprises a 32ha wine estate located in the town of Vernou sur Brenne in Indre et Loire (37), Damien Pinon is a winegrower who produces effervescent or still Vouvray wines. A winemaker is recognised for the quality and delicacy of its wines. His clay-limestone terroir allows him to develop rich, balanced, and fruity wines.
Your vineyard is, on average, 30 years old and it is partially renewed every year. We also work a few plots of old vines, which make it possible for us to obtain even more complex wines. For all orders or to request additional information about the cuvées, please contact Damien Pinon on +33(0)247521516 or via the online form.
The working method
Before vinifying, we are careful to take care of our land and our vines...
The winegrower, very close to Vouvray (37), attaches great importance to vineyard management methods.
Our vines are cultivated according to the principles of organic farming, with grass in the middle of the rows to preserve the biological life of the soil. The soil is cultivated at the foot of the vines so that the roots can reach as deep as possible to give maximum expression to the terroir.
As a result of this work, the vineyard was awarded level 3 High Environmental Value certification for its cultivation practices in 2020.
On the strength of this experience, we decided to make our convictions official and began converting the estate to organic farming in 2020.
In June 2023, we approved the conversion of the entire vineyard to organic farming.
Our estate is now certified AB! Passionate about his work and respectful of the vines, Damien Pinon continually strives to restore the ecological balance of the land, which is essential for the long-term survival of the terroirs.
The know-how of Damien Pinon
A know-how that applies on a daily basis, from grapes to wine, combining traditions and modern techniques. The harvest is mechanical for the base wines and can be manual for the Vouvray Tranquilles. The winemaker selects all his juices during pressing to remove only the best from the harvest and thus obtain wines that are finer and more elegant, but which nevertheless have a certain complexity and identity.
The alcoholic fermentation of the juices obtained is carried out only using native yeasts (specific to the grape), to further accentuate the terroir effect. Then comes the time for aging which is done quietly, but it is punctuated by weekly stirring of the fine lees, thus giving more creaminess. Come and taste!
